Join Janet Yockers, Bec Ratcliff, and Amy Baxter on the picturesque South Island of New Zealand
We are heading to the Gibbston Valley just outside of iconic Queenstown for a week immersed in yoga, wine & foodie adventures, along with exploring the remarkable landscapes and natural beauty of the land. This luxurious retreat will be located at Kinross, a working vineyard with boutique accommodation, surrounded by mountains and the most stunning, tranquil views. Together, we will unwind, reconnect, and “retreat” ourselves. We love yoga, travel, having a good time, and creating magic that happens only on a retreat!
Your Teachers & Hosts
Bec, Janet, and Amy are lovers of life and love their yoga with a side of Pinot Noir.
As experienced teachers and dedicated students, they bring kindness, wisdom, and fun into not just their teachings, but every conversation and interaction they have with the people and world around them. You will feel at home in their presence and inspired to live your life to the fullest.
These adventurous spirits also believe in balance and you will have the best time with them both on and off the mat.
They can’t wait to hang out with you!
The Destination
The South Island of New Zealand is a wanderlust destination, immersed in mountains, lakes, and breath-taking views.
Kinross, our vineyard retreat centre, is located a 25 minute drive away from Queenstown in the heart of the Gibbston Valley. Gibbston is apart of Central Otago wine country and famous for wineries, restaurants, pubs, boutique accommodation, and the historic Kawarau Suspension Bridge.
This beautiful town is nestled within the Wakatipu Basin in the Otago region of the South Island, New Zealand. A stunning landscape where the valley runs the Kawarau River which forms the Kawarau Gorge.
The magical location offers seclusion and wanderlust surrounded by mountains and provides a true sanctuary in which to escape the pressures of busy life and explore the sights and sounds of this beautiful country.
Find Balance
The yoga shala looks out onto the vineyard with incredible views of the local mountains and landscapes.
With hardwood floors and a modern-rustic feel, you will be immersed not just in the practice of yoga but also the natural surroundings. Just like our yoga practice, Kinross has is full of history and tradition, yet has a modern, accessible feel. This retreat is all about balance. Green smoothies and yoga in the morning. Wine tasting and hot tubbing by night!
Yoga Styles
Dynamic Flow
A strong, alignment-based vinyasa practice. Through intelligent sequencing, informed alignment, and yogic wisdom, students are encouraged to slow down and experience every moment of their lives. Our morning practices will be challenging and awakening, yet accessible for all levels.
Yin Yoga
Long, slow, and deep is one way to describe yin yoga. Postures are low to the ground and are held for longer periods of time to bring stillness and restoration to the body and mind. We believe in the balance, ease, and wholeness that Yin brings to students. These practices give you time to rest and digest and drop into a state of deep relaxation.
Gimme More
Throughout the week we will include special yoga workshops with Janet & Bec as well as sprinkle in pranayama and meditation experiences for a complete practice.
The Culinary Experience
Just like yoga, a good meal nourishes all the senses and brings people together.
We believe a retreat is only as good as the food! Meals will be served in the beautiful wine garden or the cosy bistro where you will enjoy Chef Pete Franklin's beautifully crafted cuisine for Brunch and Dinner.
With a generous selection of delicious seasonal meals, snacks, platters accommodating to all dietary requests there is something for everyone. Everything served will be fresh and delicious using seasonal produce sourced from local growers and Kinross very own heritage orchard. We have worked closely with Kinross to create seasonal menus with dairy free, gluten free & vegetarian options.
Meet the Chef
Head Chef Pete Franklin who is originally from the UK, now calls Central Otago home. He is inspired by fresh local produce and the high quality ingredients we have here in NZ, bringing you a beautiful new menu each season.
Outdoor & Foodie Adventures
This retreat will be a cultural immersion in everything the area has to offer. We have planned some very special offsite experiences including a day on (electric!) bikes touring the local wineries, tastings included! We will also have a private cave tour accompanied by a lunch at a nearby winery. On our last full day together, we’ll take a scenic hike with a final dinner in the quaint village of Arrowtown.
All of our retreats have ample free time so you can explore and rest at your leisure. The Otago area is known for its adventurous spirit and there is something for everybody. We highly recommend wandering into Queenstown, a possible visit to the Onsen Hot Pools, and getting out onto the beautiful Lake Wakatipu.
And of course we’ll end every night hot tubbing under the stars!

Whether you’re a regular practitioner or new to yoga, you’re all welcome and will be fully supported. We will be moving our bodies a lot on retreat so please let us know in your booking form if you have any injuries, health conditions or recent surgeries so we can cater for you.
Do I need to have a regular yoga practice to attend?
All of our retreats are availale to the beginner yogi to the advanced and the non-yogi partner or friend that is brand new to yoga. We are all about inclusivity and inspiring people to live their lives to the fullest in a healthy way.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely! A yoga retreat is a great place to make new friends and meet like minded people. You are welcome to book a single room or we can pair you up with other solo travellers for a shared room if available. If for some reason there is no one to pair you with for a shared room, you would need to pay for a single room.
How many people will be on the retreat?
The group size varies depending on the destination and venue. Typically our experiences average between 12 - 20 students and ensure the perfect teacher to studio ratio so everyone feels supported and connected. The more students, the more teachers. We love to create an intimate environment to create community while still giving you the freedom to be able to do your own thing when you like.
What food can I expect on retreat?
Only the best! We love food and it is such an important part of the retreat experience. We work with our venues to curate a beautiful menu of fresh and local cuisines. Typically meals are communal and a time to connect and share. If you have any dietary or medical considerations, please let us know in your booking form.
Are flight and airport transfers included?
Flights and transfers are not included in the retreat price unless otherwise specified for your destination.
How do I get to the retreat venue?
The venue is a 20 minute drive from Queenstown Airport. We would suggest to book a taxi or airport transfer to the venue.
How do I secure my space for the retreat?
For each retreat we require you to submit your booking form and make a non-refundable deposit to secure your space. Please follow the booking buttons above.
What should I bring?
We will provide you with a suggested packing list for each retreat. We always recommend a swimsuit, sunscreen, hat, walking shoes, journal, reusable water bottle and of course, comfortable athletic wear for duration of your retreat. We will let you know if you need to bring a yoga mat and props or if they will be provided by the venue.
Can I come early or stay longer at the venue?
We love when retreaters extend their retreat into a longer holiday! Staying onsite is dependent on what the venue allows. We will let you know when you book if this is available.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
Please read our cancellation policy located on the booking form carefully prior to booking and paying for your $500 non-refundable deposit.
What If the retreat is cancelled due to covid-19?

Testimonials
“I have attended two retreats with Amy and Janet and these have been the best self care decisions I made! Their passion for yoga is contagious, the retreat spaces have been carefully selected to provide the most relaxing yet exotic experiences and it’s been so special to connect with like-minded yogis to share an unforgettable week together! Can’t wait for the next one <3”
“Highly recommend Nectar retreats - I recently joined the most incredible group of yogis at a Nectar retreat in NSW, Australia and loved every moment there. Janet and Amy have thought through every detail to make their retreats amazing for everyone - they not only find the best little hidden spots, but they also organise amazing food, bring along inspiring instructors and overall come up with great itineraries that suit each destination. I loved the balance of practice, spirituality and free time. I’m looking forward to the next escape with Nectar!”
“Thoroughly enjoyed the Byron Retreat with Nectar in 2021. The hosts are friendly and talented yogi’s, all attendees are welcoming, there’s plenty of yoga, but also plenty of time to yourself (to venture to the city, beach or pool) and the food was amazing. If you’re looking for a retreat where you grow personally, physically and come out both rested & energised - this is it!”
