Here I am, here I stay.

Happy June and happy Monday! One minute I'm at a luxury retreat soaking up the Spanish sun with 16 amazing humans, next minute I'm back being a mom and living my little village life. How quickly do you transition from one thing to the next? Since moving countries and running retreats all over Europe, I've struggled to build a life where I am now. But I'm working on it!

For so long I've been craving community. Local community, in the flesh community, community that will help raise my daughter, the community I had as a kid in the 90s. This year has been about doing the work to "be where I am." I've been investing in friendships with my neighbors and my local studio, I started a real life book club with some other nearby moms, and you won't believe it, I'm starting to run some local classes at the village hall! I'll just have to walk across a field with a ton of yoga blocks to get there. Maybe Gigi will help me set up the room and maybe we'll get a drink at the pub after class.

I think we often do we get stuck, wishing we were somewhere else. Whether it's idealising the past or planning the future. I learned a mantra from Nirdosh, the beautiful woman who owns our Tuscany Retreat home. "Here I am, here I stay." It's a reminder to be where you are. To CHOOSE where you are. To say yes to this life of being human.

Are you building a life for you? Are you building a life where you are? I'm doing it because I know I need it. We will go through many iterations of friendships and communities during a lifetime. Stay open and keep saying yes to where you are.

Also, I started teaching Pilates! It's humbling! I've learned that I can't count to save my life! But it's fun! And so this is where I am. Making new friends and being a beginner again. Here I am, here I stay.

Much love,
Janet
